Student Outcomes After Training

After successfully completing the course and post-course practical experience, you should be capable of understanding and performing the following — professionally and safely.

Conduct professional client consultations and treatment suitability assessments
Screen for contraindications and identify when a treatment is not appropriate
Develop safe, effective body contouring treatment plans tailored to individual clients
Perform 40kHz and 80kHz ultrasonic cavitation treatments with correct technique
Perform radiofrequency skin tightening treatments (bipolar, six-polar, vacuum RF)
Perform facial RF, microcurrent photon, and cryo lift treatments
Apply cellulite-focused treatment protocols using combined modalities
Document treatments, including before-and-after photography and client records
Communicate aftercare instructions and manage client expectations professionally
Maintain client safety, infection prevention, and hygiene standards throughout

These outcomes describe what you should be capable of after completing both the course and the required post-course practical experience. We do not guarantee employment, income, clients, or business success — your results depend on your effort, practice, and commitment.

Competency & Practice

Practical Competency, Not Just Attendance

National Aesthetics Training values practical competency, safety, and confidence — not simply course attendance. Here is how we approach it.

25 Hours of Post-Course Practice

We require a commitment to completing a minimum of 25 hours of post-course practical experience, ideally by treating at least 25 volunteer models (approximately one hour per treatment). This builds the hands-on confidence that theory alone cannot.

Competency Through Practice, Not Just Attendance

Attendance alone does not necessarily demonstrate competency. Professional competency is developed through ongoing practice and experience following training. We assess your understanding during the course, but true competency is built through repeated, real-world practice.

Safety and Confidence First

This post-course practice requirement is a trust and differentiation signal. It tells your clients and insurers that you take safety and competency seriously — not just course attendance.

This commitment to practical competency is a key differentiator. It means your certificate represents genuine preparation — not just a day of attendance. Clients, insurers, and regulators increasingly value practitioners who can demonstrate real, hands-on experience.

Professional Responsibility

Scope of Practice, Insurance & Regulations

Understanding your professional responsibilities is essential before offering treatments commercially.

Requirements for offering body contouring and skin tightening treatments can vary depending on the treatment, the equipment, your state or territory, your insurance provider, your workplace, and your professional background. It is your responsibility to check the regulations and requirements applicable to your circumstances.

In most Australian councils, minimum requirements for operating an aesthetic treatment space include a treatment room with hard, cleanable flooring (no carpet), access to a handwashing sink within the treatment area or nearby, proper infection control and hygiene standards, and safe equipment use and maintenance.

Most practitioners need professional indemnity and public liability insurance. We recommend contacting insurance providers that cover aesthetics and beauty treatments to confirm their requirements before you start practising. Our course provides the knowledge and protocols to perform treatments safely, but insurance, council approvals, and regulatory compliance are your responsibility.

This information is general in nature and does not constitute legal advice. We encourage you to check relevant Victorian and Australian regulations and insurance requirements applicable to your specific circumstances before offering treatments commercially.
